For the CLP and Knowledge Tests
- A valid California noncommercial Class C driver license or acceptable temporary/interim California license.
- Completed online CDL application.
- Required identity and residency documentation for your transaction.
- 10-Year History Record Check (DL 939) if you held a license in another state or jurisdiction during the applicable period.
- Medical Examination Report and Medical Examiner's Certificate information as required for your commercial driving category.

Before the Skills Test
